Carter's Birthday Party

Carter’s turning five, my friends,
let’s have a spooky fest
Bring your frightful costumes;
we’ll see whose is the best!
Saturday, the 31st?
YES, it’s Halloween!
We’ll have the best darn party
you have ever seen.

Arrive around 11,
witches, ghosts, and goblins too,
We’ll eat some tasty treats and
wash them down with witch’s brew!
Don’t be scared it will be fun,
with games and crafts galore!
A birthday on all Hallow’s Eve?
Who knows what lies in store…

I have such creative friends that helped pull off this party. Nicole is my poet and Joann made the darling cake. Thanks!

I can't believe that Carter is 5! It's been a great 5 years.

For the birthday party, he invited a few friends over and we had a costume party.

We ate mummy dogs, apples and caramel and veggies. We drank witches brew.

We made little ghost balls, colored mini pumpkins, went on a skeleton scavenger hunt, made goo, opened presents, and sang Carter a birthday song.

It was a great little party.

The next day our families came to visit and give him gifts. He got $50 in $5 bills.! What a great birthday!

Halloween 2009

This year we went with the Peter Pan theme. Carter was Peter Pan, ready to fight Hook with his dagger. Kathryn was the cutest Tinkerbell ever invented. (It must be that darling hair!) And Kimball debuted as the crocodile that kills Hook. Chris and I dressed up as pirates for the neighborhood trunk or treat, but were not so ambitious for Halloween night.
Carter had a rough Halloween weekend. He had caught a really bad cold that got progressively worse towards the night. When we went to the neighborhood trunk or treat he was exhausted and miserable. This was the best pictures I could get! Carter's costume was Uncle Josh's when he was a little boy.

Cierra Robinson offered to design Kathryn's tinkerbell costume. She looked adorable!
Kimball loved the candy!

Trick or Treat!
