1st Day of Preschool

I'm so blessed to get to be my kids preschool teacher.  I love that they get to come to Mary's Little Lambs preschool and I get to see how they interact with their peers and learn in school.  This was our first day of school.

Happy Birthday Grandma Janice

We had a surprise tea party for Grandma's birthday.  It was held at the Grand America.  She thought she was going to see Lorraine get an award, but instead we were all there.  Shawna and Marianne (her nieces) came.  Mindy, Melanie, and Marsha were there, and then me and my mom.  Millie was the only child that got to come.  She wore the BEAUTIFUL dress that Grandma bought her.  We each gave grandma a wish and she wished us one.

Bear Lake Round 2

The 2nd time we went to Bear Lake with the Coombs and the Jensens and the Brownings.  We had a great time boating.  With Jon's boat, we had two boats to play with.  The boys were CRAZY on the tubes.  Jon, Trevor, Chris, Richard and Ryker had some highly intense tube rides.  The kids loved playing on the beach again, and Millie hung out under the shade!

Bear Lake Round 1

We always enjoy our time at Bear Lake with the Coombs family.  We love going on the boat.  The kids love the tube and hot dog.  (Well Kathryn not so much, but the boys can't get enough!)  Chris and I both waterskiied and Chris wake boarded.  I tried to wake board...

 But the favorite activity at Bear Lake is the BEACH!  The kids never get sick of playing in the sand!

 We were in charge of the hot dog dinner.  It was Delicious.  Richard brought the famous J sauce, and we had some amazing dogs for dinner!  Nothing like roasting hot dogs over the campfire...well maybe roasting marshmallows!

 The Coombs' lair lives on...and has grown.  Chris engineered a way to put two tents together.  I called it the Harry Potter tent, you walk in and there are more rooms.  The most memorable night of camping was the first night where there was a terrible storm.  The rain was pouring and the thunder was louder than any I've ever heard.  It shook the ground and the tent.  I was very scared that lightening was going to strike that tree behind the tent.  Our kids slept through the thunder (surprisingly) but Kimball did say he heard the dragon in the night!

Carter starts 1st grade

Such a handsome kid!  His teacher is Mrs. Kay Knowlton. 

We made his teacher this cute vase of flowers for the first day of school.  When he went into school he sat in the front row and started playing with the tangrams at his desk.  I wish I could have stayed and witnessed every move and his reactions.  I know he will be a great student. I've volunteered a couple of times the past two weeks, he is very well behaved and knows the answer to all the questions.  My main concern is that he won't be challenged.  I want him to be able to enjoy school and learn.  He has a good time at recess (what boy doesn't say recess is their favorite part of the day?) and loves his friend Timothy.

He's been taking home lunches everyday.  How many PBJ's can someone stand to eat?  He won't eat much else.  I've tried to put snacks that he enjoys in his lunch.  He loves it when I put a little note in the lunchbox. 

Julie Thompson has been driving him to and from school.  The second day of school, she didn't know she was suppose to pick him up, so he got left.  He handled it really well, but I sure felt bad!  When we send him out the door, Kathryn and Kimball yell out at least 5 times, "bye Carter, have a good day!"  They miss him (I do too!) while he is at school.

Millie 1, 2, 3 months

Time is going by so fast!!!!  Millie is 3 months old now and is growing so much.  She is a PERFECT  baby.  She's been sleeping through the night since 5 weeks old, she eats quickly and has gained weight fast.  She was 7 lbs 2 oz at birth and at her 2 month appointment she was 12 lbs 5 oz!  She is happy most of the time and sleeps great.  I thank Heavenly Father everyday that we were given such a good girl!  It makes our crazy life a lot more manageable!  Love you Mills-a-roni.

One more day of summer...

I can't believe it's September!  People ask "what did you do this summer."  We didn't do very many fancy things...boating and Bear Lake with the Coombs, a few trips to American Fork, a couple of park days, 2 or 3 days of swimming at the Bridenstein home, a lot of hours of nursing, a lot of playing in our pajamas and making messes in every room of the house, a lot of Phineas and Ferb, and a ton of time just being together.  It's been a pretty LOW KEY summer.

We could blame it on a new baby or the lack of money (I wasn't getting paid all summer)...but I think the real reason was I needed a LOW KEY summer.  I have felt more relaxed over the past few months than I have in a LONG time.  The kids have loved being at home playing with each other.  We're all turning into quite the home bodies!

Holly Iskason invited us to the Bridenstein home this summer to swim.  My kids loved it, I felt like a good mommy, and I didn't have to stress about too many kids, and Millie was tucked nicely in her seat on the covered deck.  We took some pictures today to celebrate one of the fun summer times!
