Grandpa and Grandma's 60th wedding anniversary

Doug and Janice Mayne celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 19th!  Grandma and Grandpa are such influential people in my life.  They are both really hard workers and through life's trials they have pushed through lives challenges together.  Our family all got together with some of their close friends to celebrate this great occasion.  All of my brothers were able to be there and most of my cousins (we were missing Jessica and Jon and Joe and Megan).  We had a lovely dinner, an open mic which memories were shared of the two of them, and then dancing.  Grandma had been super sick (with pnemonia) and we were all praying she would have energy to be at the party.  The evening turned out spectacular!  It was the party of the year!

Some of the photos from the actual wedding.  They were married in Grandma Dean's front room on Main Street in American Fork. (This is the home that they live in now).
Grandma and Grandpa cutting the cake 60 years ago.  Backers' Bakery (from Salt Lake, Utah) made their wedding cake and still is in business.  It's one of my favorite stores for yummies!

Kimball fell in love at the party.  This is Mia Mary, our 3rd cousin.  She adored Kimball and the two of them were unseparable!  They danced together all night and she doted on his every need!  She called him the next day wanting to check on her little buddy.  He has asked to go to her house, almost daily!  She will be an excellent babysitter...too bad she lives so far away!

All the great grandkids got to hold up a letter in an acrostic poem that describes our grandparents!
