Friends....is a dishwasher a need or a want in your view?
Our dishwasher of 18 months had a final spin on Saturday night when it ended with a GRRR! We are in the process of trying to figure out what we are going to do with this lemon purchase. Tonight I taught the kids the old-fashioned way of washing dishes. Carter and Kathryn were great helpers as they rinsed and scrubbed the dishes. Kathryn mostly transfered water from one cup to another, but Carter did a great job rinsing the dishes. He would run a fork over the running water 20 times to "make sure it was clean." Our efforts were NOT water friendly tonight.
I'm going to invest in paper products until we figure out the dishwasher situation. What did our ancestors do without dishwashers?

My personal opinion is a need....
Poppins, you are a young Mother with a million and one things to do; if a dishwasher allows you to spend more quality time and eco-friendly time with your children then buy a new dishwasher and get the extended warranty. Carter and Kathryn can learn to put the clean dishes away from the dishwasher. Mom
A dishwasher is an absolute need!!!! Good thinking about getting paper products in the mean time!!!
It is absolutly a need...yes indeed! Charlie is great at washing dishes by hand...I could send him your way if you would like!
