Soccer Stories

Carter is playing soccer!
His obsession started after Grandma Kathleen brought him home a soccer uniform from Croatia this fall. We then had a soccer birthday party. When my friend Nicole suggested that we enroll Carter and her little boy, Andrew, into the soccer skills class through Clearfield city. I knew Carter would love it! The six-week course consisted of lessons on soccer skills and then a scrimmage against the other class on the last week. He learned how to kick the ball with the inside of his foot and that you never touch the ball with your.... "hands" (the 3-5 year olds scream).  They took turns playing goalie...which really meant they could play with the net.  It was quite funny to watch them try to coordinate running, kicking, and watching where they were going.  Carter did pretty good.  He was pretty aggressive and ran just as fast (if not faster) than the older kids.  During one of the games, he scored a goal and was thrilled about it!
Kathryn sure enjoyed being at the park.  She would often run onto the field to try to play with the kids.  No one is going to tell her she's too young!  She kicks the ball as well as some of the other kids.  During one of the games, she found her way over to the goalie net and plopped herself.  She was a proud little peacock in her best seat of the house!
Carter joined her after the game was over!
